Maize Eyespot

Maize eyespot is a fungal disease caused by the fungus Kabatiella zeae. The disease can devastate marginal maize crops in cold, wet growing seasons as was the case for many farmers in 2008, with yield losses of up to 80%.

Read our Farming Note for help on identification, minimising the risk, salvaging an infected crop and long term eyespot control.
