Body condition score has significant impact on dry matter intake, metabolic health and subsequent fertility and performance. Formulating a picture of cow condition at varying stages of lactation allows informed management decisions to be made. From this, the ration can be best adjusted to maximise herd health and production and minimise problems at calving.
