Copper & Cow Health

Copper deficiency is a common problem where dietary intake is insufficient to meet the cow's metabolic requirement or where mineral antagonists levels are in excess.  This Farming Note follows the Copper & Molybdenum in Soils and Forage note and looks at how copper in the diet is metabolised in the cow and how mineral balance in the ration can be fine tuned to promote herd health.
