Latest Member's Mailing

Last week, many of the Kingshay team dressed up for the South West Farmer Awards. It was amazing to see everyone looking so smart and ready to celebrate my big night! I was honoured to be a finalist for the Inspirational Woman in Agriculture Award, and the team gave me every ounce of support and encouragement.

Although I didn’t win, I’m incredibly proud to have reached the finals and to be recognised for my journey within the industry. We certainly celebrated, and I’m grateful to be part of such a fantastic team and community.

Enclosed in your Mailing:

As ever, we have packed this mailing with practical tips to help you get the most out of your farm. Inside, you will find two new publications: “How to Extend Your Forage Stocks”, full of ideas to stretch your feed supply, and “Prebiotics & Probiotics”, exploring how they can boost animal health and performance. These resources are part of the regular updates we send to you as a member, to keep you informed and ahead of the game.

Thanks for being part of our farming community – we are here to support you every step of the way.

How to Extend Your Forage Stocks

2025 has been one of the most challenging forage growing seasons in memory. Extended drought across much of the country has led to reduced grass, maize and cereal yields, pushing many farmers into a forage shortage. Although the forage picture varies greatly depending on location, everyone can benefit from reviewing forage stocks, planning for the winter and looking at ways to extend supplies if necessary.

Pre & Probiotics - Research Insight

This Research Insight explores the roles of prebiotics and probiotics, explaining how they function and highlighting findings from scientific studies conducted around the world. It offers practical, evidence-based benefits that these supplements can bring to your livestock.

Just a quick reminder, if you ever need advice or have a question, we are only a phone call away. No issue is too small, and no question too silly, just give us a ring! And don’t forget, this support is free in the first instance as part of your membership.

Abbie-Louise Smith, a PhD candidate at the University of Nottingham has asked if I can share this with you, she is looking for participants to take part in her study - The aim of the study is to better understand dairy industry stakeholders’ perceptions of a ‘good life’ and what this means for dairy calves. Your input into this study would be highly valued. Link to register: https://forms.office.com/e/wDYzNSDJfU.
