TB Biosecurity

Kingshay has been fundamental to developing the Defra funded TB Advisory Service www.tbas.org.uk, providing bespoke on farm advice with regards to TB biosecurity. Kingshay has delivered all the veterinary adviser training making our consultants are some of the most knowledgeable advisers on TB in the UK.

TB Biosecurity covers many aspects of everyday farm practice, and should not just be a series of reactive measures after a breakdown. Biosecurity is pro-active planning and the use of measures to protect the health and welfare of you livestock. What does good TB biosecurity look like. What TB biosecurity measures are in place on your farm and what risks still make you vulnerable. Appropriate levels of biosecurity to reduce or eliminate the risk of reactors, and measures on farm to reduce the length of a breakdown and the chance of future problems can bring benefits to your business improving productivity alongside positive impacts on sustainability and ultimately improve profitability.

Kingshay consultants can  assess current levels of TB biosecurity, identify areas of risk and advise on a series of recommendations to reduce if not eliminate those risks. We can advise on how to implement TB biosecurity measures, including staff training to ensure changes to reduce TB biosecurity risks are taken up as part of everyday farm practice.

We discuss TB in an holistic way, TB control is about understanding the politics and policies that affect farms, in order to acknowledge the role individuals can play in national disease control and importantly what you can do on your farm to reduce the chance of as well as the impacts of a TB breakdown on you and your business.
