Description
Moulds produce mycotoxins, affecting the animal’s metabolism, causing reduced milk yields in cows, abortions and, in extreme cases, death.
To avoid any mycotoxin trace in milk, lactating dairy cows should never be fed mouldy feeds.
The results are reported as Cfu/g (colony forming units per g), a unit used in microbiology to estimate the number of viable bacteria or fungal cells in a sample.
