Dynamic Parlour Testing Farming Note
Testing milk machine and parlour function can highlight problems which are resulting in a less effective milking and damaged udders. Unlike static parlour testing, dynamic parlour testing is carried out during milking time and therefore it enables parlour function to be tested during different stages of milking and at different milk flows, which can influence vacuum levels.
This Farming Note covers:
- Milking machine function
- Static and dynamic parlour testing
- The importance of correct vacuum levels
- Pulsation
- Wash cycle testing
Issued October 2012.
