SFI26 – Easy Wins
Following on from our previous Dairy Insight released in March 2026, the RPA has now published the full scheme guidance for SFI26, with application windows opening from June 2026 (Window 1) and September 2026 (Window 2). While some of the previous ‘easy-win’ options have now been removed as Defra refocuses the scheme towards actions with stronger environmental and productivity outcomes, there remain a number of practical opportunities, both old and new, that can fit easily within many dairy systems.
In this Dairy Insight we highlight some of the most accessible and profitable SFI actions for dairy farmers, demonstrating how the scheme can support business resilience, improve soil and grassland performance, and help reduce reliance on purchased inputs.
Issued June 2026
