Concrete Grooving - On Farm Trial Site

Smooth concrete in cattle yards and walkways is hazardous to cows and can affect herd performance

Not only does smooth concrete increase the chance of cows slipping causing injuries, but it can also lead to reduced bulling activity and lower feed intakes.

A number of grooving contractors have been invited to demonstrate their methods at Bridge Farm enabling us to compare them for cost and improved cow traction.

Visitors will be able to assess for themselves the suitability of each method for their own farm circumstances.
